About WorkWiz
We believe great work deserves great tools.
WorkWiz was built by a small team of engineers and designers who spent years frustrated by the gap between what project management software promised and what it actually delivered. So we built the thing we wanted to use.
“Our mission is to give every team — not just the best-resourced ones — access to the kind of intelligent work management that was once only possible with a room full of project managers and consultants.”
Our values
What guides how we build.
These aren't just wall words. They shape every product decision we make.
Simplicity over completeness
We'd rather ship one thing that's truly excellent than ten things that are merely adequate. Every feature we build is carefully considered — and many ideas get cut because adding things is easy, but removing them is hard.
Respect people's time
Every minute someone spends wrestling with software is a minute they're not doing meaningful work. We obsess over load times, interaction design, and the number of clicks it takes to get anything done. Speed is a feature.
AI that earns trust
AI should augment your judgment, not replace it. We build AI features that are transparent about their reasoning, easy to override, and that improve with your feedback. You stay in control — always.
Customer success is product success
We don't measure success in signups. We measure it in teams that shipped their best quarter yet, freelancers who landed clients they couldn't before, and projects that came in on time. Your wins are the only metric that matters.
Our story
Built from frustration, shaped by real teams.
WorkWiz started in late 2023, when two former agency owners — Alex Mora and Jana Kim — reached the end of their patience with project management software. They had tried everything: Asana, Monday, Notion, Linear, Basecamp. All of them had pieces of what they needed, but none had all of it.
The problem they kept running into wasn't features — it was intelligence. Every tool made them do the work of figuring out what to prioritize, who was overloaded, and whether a deadline was at risk. They wanted software that could actually think alongside them.
They joined YC W24, recruited a small team of engineers and designers who shared the obsession, and spent six months talking to hundreds of project managers, agency owners, and product leads before writing a single line of production code. The result is WorkWiz: built on everything they learned, and everything they wished existed.
